Bill Devine’s acumen as a counselor, negotiator and advocate is grounded in more than 20 years of advising individuals and enterprises on real estate and finance, in both routine situations and those charged with risk and high stakes. He is founder and managing partner of William Devine Esquire, a Menlo Park law firm whose practice spans institutional and residential real property law, land use, and estate planning. Families, professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, venture capitalists, banks and universities are his clients. The firm also advises companies as general counsel on the full range of corporate and employment matters. Devine wrote Women, Men & Money (Random House, 1998). His articles and op-ed pieces have appeared in national media, including Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, California Lawyer, California Real Estate Journal, and Priorities magazine, among others. He has presented more than 50 seminars on estate planning, negotiating and finance across the country, including talks to audiences at the Stanford University School of Medicine, Santa Clara County Bar Association, Commonwealth Club of San Francisco, Santa Clara University, and Cisco Systems. He is a panelist on presentations to roundtable and professional organizations throughout North America. Devine represents private high schools and California universities on faculty housing matters. He is a member of the State Bar of California, graduated from Dartmouth College, and earned his law degree at Boston University. He lives with his wonderful wife and his delightful daughter. |
